Krishna Kumar had been reading about farmers and their troubles all through his four-year stint at the GE India Innovation Centre. An instrumentation engineer by training, Kumar was recruited by GE in 2006 for its global leadership programme. He had worked his way through several industry verticals at the company, learning to solve industrial problems using data, his mind preoccupied with the difficult lives of farmers.
